One of our listeners, the very artistic Kat Slay (@slaykatart) is hosting an Artist Trading Card swap about Once Upon A Time. This swap will give us something to do while we wait for the new season to begin and at the same time make new friends and be creative all in the name of our favorite show – Once Upon A Time.

Artist Trading Cards or ATC’s as they are called are considered somewhat like baseball cards that people trade with each other. The main difference is that, ATC’s are handmade by the trader/swapper rather than mass produced like baseball cards. If you can’t draw, worry not because ATC’s come in many different mediums. It can be a collage, you can use stickers, ready made pictures and the like. For a quick demo on how to make a simple ATC, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Nr6L6Vh_F0

So now that you know the basics, here are the steps to join the ATC Swaps:

1. To join the swaps, you have to first become a member of Swapbot if you’re not already. ( www.swap-bot.com ) and then join the OUAT swaps (links will be below). The signup deadline is May 14th and you have roughly two weeks to send your ATC to your partner.

2. Be sure to fill out your profile with ALL of your likes, dislikes, interests, etc. The more filled out your profile is, the better your partner will know how to customize your swap item. Also, there are tons of other great swaps on the site; most will allow unrated Newbies with well-filled out profiles. Anyone interested can check out my profile for a reference.

3. Once the deadline to sign up passes, Swapbot will assign everyone a partner. Everyone involved will be given the mailing information on who they send to. The cool thing about this is, you’ll be sending to one person in the swap and receiving from a different person.
