From Lisa

Hi Jeff and Colleen,
Just finished listening to your first thoughts on last night’s OUAT and, while I enjoyed the episode for the most part, I can’t say I was as enthralled by it as you were. I had pretty much decided that Peter Pan must be Rumple’s father so that revelation was a bit anticlimactic for me. I’m also getting weary of the way in which the writers give us a taste of something awesome one week and then barely follow up on it the next. Snow and Charming had their emotional confrontation in last week’s “Dark Hollow,” this week they shared one snippet of dialogue. Emma’s desire to get David back to Storybrooke and keep her family together deserved more than the glossing over it received in this episode as well, but then I think that the relationship between Emma and her parents deserves more attention than it gets in general anyway. I’d be curious to know if there were any scenes deleted from this episode. I would have loved to have seen what Hook and Tinkerbell and Snow and Charming were up to(yes we were told but I’d rather have seen and heard for myself) while Emma, Neal, Gold and Regina were looking for Henry and Pan. I think Neverland has been a great setting for these characters and has allowed the writers to explore their relationships in new and interesting ways, but I don’t think they’ve done as much of that as they could or as much as I would have liked(especially with Emma and her parents).
In conclusion, one question that I couldn’t help but ask myself as I watched last night was: rather than pursue the heart of the truest believer, why didn’t Peter Pan simply flip the hourglass over? Of course that would have made the entire season up to now a mute point but it seems an obvious, albeit less dramatic, solution to Pan’s predicament. Just a thought.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and theories.
I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Lisa

From Maii

Hi guys Maii here so my friend Lexi just wrote this really good meta about the spinsters being the fates that I’d thought you’d like to read =)
I’ll be sending my thoughts on the episode tomorrow or wednesday bc I have to finish a 20+ pg investigation on ABC for one of my classes so I haven’t actually had time to rewatch and gather my thoughts hehee.

killians-tinkabelle:
The Moirai or more commonly known, The Fates are three goddess that are the incarnations of Destiny. Sometimes they are described as ugly old women, sometimes lame. They were thought to be severe, inflexible and stern. The fates are the controllers of the “Thread of Life”. At the birth, the Moirai spinned out the thread of your life, followed your steps, and eventually would cut the string when it was time for your death.
The Fates did not interfere in human affairs but took advantage of events when they could. They also had a hand in directing a mans morals but since man is born or freedom, man had a certain amount of influence. Giving man the opportunity to change his fate.
The names of the Moirai are:
• Clotho: The spinner of the thread of life. She had the most power as she decided when a person was to be born, thus effecting a persons life. She also had the power to chose who would be saved and who would die. She is believed to be the youngest of the three.
• Lachesis: The measurer the thread of life. She is belived to determine destiny.
• Atropos: The cutter of the thread of life. She is known as the inevitable. She decided how a person was to die. She is believed to be the oldest of the sisters.
In Think Lovely Thoughts we saw Adam and Eddy’s version of The Fates. Two spinster ladies, spinning in their little cottage who finished off each others thoughts. They worked in sync with the other. Just how the fates work together so did the spinsters. Adam and Eddy did not give us a definitive break down of who the spinsters sisters would be in regards to the fates but they can be viewed as Lachesis and Atropos. They gave them the power of all 3.
Where is the third Clotho you ask? An argument can be made the The Seer can be is Clotho. She had a great amount of power. She not only has the power of Clotho but of Lachesis and Atropo. She could see all and how a person would die. When she speaks to Rumple she tells him about the birth of Neal and how he would die in the Ogre wars. Like Clotho she tells him about life and death. Very much like the fates in myth she does not directly interfere but gives information so that Rumple can make the decision on what he will do next in his destiny.
This is not the first time the Fates have interfered in Rumple’s life. We saw as a young boy the spinster sister gave Rumple the bean so he and his father could start a new life somewhere far away. Both new that if Rumple were to stay his fate would be something horrible because of who his father is. They were giving him the chance to change his fate.
Some of the things that seem interesting to note is that Rumple takes to spinning very quickly. The spinsters themselves say he is extremely talented and could spin for Kings and Queens. This can be foreshadowing that he will be the third fate. As the Dark One he kills the seer and talks over her power. Even Rumples poster is about a man changing his fate.
None of this is just pure coincidence but set up as a twist to the Greek Myth of the Fates. We even see Rumple myself manipulate peoples destiny for his means. getting Regina to create the curse. Snow and Charming to meet so they could have Emma. Even making sure he was locked in the cell when the curse hit. As the Dark One he behaves like The Fates. Not interfering with people lives but offering them something to change their path in life.

Hi Jeff and Colleen, it’s been awhile since I last emailed you, I like to stay in the shadows and lurkJ. I always hope to encourage you because I love your podcast. You are great podcasters and I appreciate the time you devote to this show. It takes a lot of confidence to put your craft into the world for people to judge it and I want you to know that it means a lot to me personally. I know ratings are low, but it ain’t over yet.  I wish you continued success and big love from my heart to yours. (You can cut this part and be modest if you like)
Ok mateys….
I watched the episode again and noticed things that I did not see before. I wanted to share my thoughts with you. This is long so feel free to highlight what you want to say on the show. Please excuse any typos.
Rumple’s Dad (Subtle clues that were given)
·         His stature, mannerisms and behavior are just like Peter Pan
·         He has green eyes
·         Why is Peter Pan more mature as a boy then as a man? Is it because his father sold him as a child and as a result he had to grow up fast.
·         He seems to be having a problem telling the difference between imagination and reality
·         He is narcissistic and can’t help it.
·         He thinks he is too weak to be a father and admits it. Rumple is suffering from the same thing. It is brave to admit your faults, but true bravery is to face those faults, which is why he is a coward.
·         Is the reason he resented fatherhood is because he didn’t love rumple’s mother?
Regina
·         She is well dressed for being on a deserted island, so is Snow, and Emma. Where do they shop? Neverland Republic and Never Crew(Banana Republic and Never Crew just in case you didn’t get my corny joke)
·         I kept staring at her hair. It was some good hair.
The Shadow
·         Why is he so mean?
·         He doesn’t seem to want anyone on the island
·         The shadow made sure that rumple saw his dad turn into peter pan. Why did he point?
·         The shadow seems vengeful and somehow jealous of everyone who comes to the island.
·         The next time I need a taxi I will call the shadow. He will drop you off right at the doorstep.
·         He is a gatekeeper to keep people from staying on the island. Who put him there?
·         The shadow has blue eyes. This will definitely come into play later.
·         The shadow is willing to help Peter. What is in it for him?
·         Blue is near green on the color wheel; if Peter loses the magic and eventually dies will he become the new shadow? What will happen to the old shadow? Is it like when Rumple killed the old dark one?
Rumple
·         He has essentially become his father. He is a trickster.
·         He is still trying to make deals after everything that has happened!(Emma wanting to save David)
·         He looks a lot like his father.
o   Look at the color of the mustache, Bae has a similar mustache
o   Look at the color of the hair
o   Look at how the hair falls
o   A good part of his stature is like his father’s
·         Poor Rumple he has to kill his father
·         Were the women that rumple’s dad left him with witches? They were pretty abnormal.
·         The shadow made boy Rumple go home
·         Rumple rolled his hand over Pandora’s Box like a magician, like abra kadabra, walaa!
·         The witches aren’t very concerned about boy Rumple. He shows up crying and they ask about the bean.
·         The witches know more than they are telling boy rumple. I think his dad planned this.
·         I defined undoing. What if undoing refers to Rumple’s power and not his life. Rumple would consider losing his powers as his undoing.
Peter Pan
o   Peter gave Rumple the doll not to scare him or prevent him from saving Henry. In a way he was apologizing. I think it was his way of saying I want to be with you. When you remind someone of such a sentimental gift like that you want them to remember how it made them feel when you gave it. He wants rumple to remember his feelings for his father when he was a child. The story has gone a complete 360. The doll kept reappearing because it was Peter’s way of saying that I will never give up trying to be with you. I will always be your father.  Rumple does the same thing with Neil and he is always asking Neil to believe in him. Could Peter need Rumple to believe in him to stay alive?
o   I guess asking your son to join you in being evil and mean to others is sort of an apology. Never mind the fact that I am about to kill our grandson to live forever as a child.
o   I loved the design of skull cave
o   Peter was teary when he gave rumple to the shadow.
o   Rumple is wrong Peter Pan does have a weakness. It is Rumple. When he trapped Rumple it turned open, Rumple can be let back out, but what will come out before him or after him if they let him out.
o   Peter was hurt that rumple didn’t take his offer.
o   Peter brings boys to the island to try to save them from the fate he had as a boy.
o   Have you noticed that every time peter tells the twisted truth he grimaces and looks really sad? He really can’t help himself. He suffers from self-preservation as well.
o   I don’t think Henry’s heart is going to work. Pan says that he needs the heart of the truest believer. In the story when Tinkerbelle was dying in never land and losing her magic she needed someone to believe in her so that she could come back to life. She needed someone to love her enough to believe in her. Henry doesn’t believe in Pan he believes in the magic and this will only give Pan so much time.  Rumple is the only one who could be the truest believer for Pan so Pan has to make do to survive.
o   Pan keeps the lost boys for their hearts because they believe in him. He doesn’t take their hearts, but he needs them to believe in him. That is why he collects boys because he is always searching for a strong believer. He only keeps the truest believers of the boys. Remember the conversation Snow, Emma, and Regina had with the lost boy they captured; he wouldn’t budge in his belief of Peter Pan and his plans. That is pretty strong belief for a kid so young.
Emma
·         She is believing
·         When she went on her believe rant she completely channeled Snow’s mannerisms and behavior
o   Look at the look of disbelief on her face(Snow gives people who don’t believe this look)
o   Nice tall straight back(Snow stands really tall when debating)
o   She picks a position for the debate( Snow always picks a pivotal point to stand when debating belief)
·         Usually she has her father’s demeanor
o   Rushes into battle
o   David’s stance and swagger
·         Emma is not as selfish this season. She cares for everyone. Emma said that she couldn’t learn anything from her parents, but I think she has.
·         Emma has completely straight hair again, like bone straight.  When it is time for her to be the hero, her hair is always straight hair. Maybe I am thinking too hard.
·         I am not sure if I am seeing things, but Emma used to wear her sword on her side like David, but now she carries it on her back like Snow carries her bow and arrows. Does this mean that she is now channeling her mother’s thinking?
·         I think Emma is tired of meeting new people from Bae’s past.
Tinkerbelle
o   Did anyone laugh when they saw tink’s sword, she was already late to draw it. Maybe it was bigger when she was a fairy.
o   I disagree with you Jeff; tink’s hair does not look like a bird’s nest lol. I looked at a close up of tink’s hair on abc.com and it is gorgeous.
Henry
o   Like you guys said Henry seemed glossed over like in a spell.
o   Maybe his heart was golden because he was enchanted by Pan’s magic.
o   Poor henry why does something terrible have to happen to him for everyone to get along.
o   I don’t think Henry is dead. Henry and Pan didn’t swap hearts. Henry gave Pan his heart. Pan would need to give Henry his heart for Henry to die. Right now Henry is just a shell.
Hook
o   Hook seemed irritated with Emma. Is it because she has refused to choose between him and Bae? Maybe he is starting to have 2nd thoughts about what the kiss meant?
o   Did he overhear her talking to Snow?
p.s. – I’ve got to stop looking for ouat pics and blogs online because a lot of them don’t put the spoiler alert large enough, or in a place that does not give your eyes a safe place to land until you click away. Now I know a possible storyline for the next episode. Rant over thanks for properly labeling spoilers.
BIG LOVE TO EVERYONE!

Wishing you clear skies mateys.

Hey guys!! How are you?

Good news I’m done with classes for this semester…and my professional exam is on the 4th so kind of nervous about that but regardless.. Think lovely thoughts!

Where to start with this ep… I have a weird relationship with this ep bc it’s not one of my faves and yet I love it?

I’m going to deal with the reveal later on I’m going to go with the rest of the ep and then lead into that

Darling Fire- loved that reunion! It was adorable.. And I love that he didn’t correct her when she called him Bae… Did love that Rumple saw right through her lies like finally you got your bs detector fixed!

Nevengers – dude the pose of everyone with their weapons drawn was perfect.. Did you notice that Emma was the only one that started to Lower her weapon when she saw it was Rumple/Regina.. Like oh it’s just you

Did love that the prophecy is now out in the open and that everyone was willing to protect Henry.. And Hook’s expression was hilarious like oh we’re going up against Rumple? Awesome!

Captain Charming- this bromance kills me dude he didn’t even hesitate to give his sword to Killian.. I really love what they are doing with their relationship and this scene proves how much Good Form/echo cave changed things btwn them… Before that Charming wouldn’t have given him the sword

Little Miss Bad Timing- Emma I love you more than anything you’re my favorite but damn you’ve got bad timing.. I love that you we’re trying to bond with Killian but you just had to pick that moment? Of course he wasn’t going to tell you anything with Rumple and Neal in hearing distance.. You know he doesn’t like to be vulnerable in front of people and you asked him about Liam in front of those two..

Charming/Emma- I need more scenes with them okay… I just do .. And I love the implication that they talked about Killian.. I need that conversation

Magic- loving the teacher/student between Regina and Emma.. Their relationship is really great this season.. I need more of magic Emma..

Henry’s family – I loved that scene it’s probably one of my favorites in the series .. Here’s Adam and Eddy saying to all the naysayers all three of them are important and each of them is as much as a parent as the other..

Because deep down that’s the core of this show.. It’s not about fairytales or love stories.. It’s about family

Although I do put my foot down when some calls it a family show, bc it’s way too messed up for kids to watch bc of the themes but that’s just me..

But like I said the core of this show is FAMILY.. Which is why I loved this episode..

Now for the rumple..

First the reveal this was my actual reaction (pardon the cursing)

Wait no.. Dude what.. Dude… Dude.. **** man,..holy ********. Damn you Adam and Eddie you evil geniuses..

Which btw have you gone back and seen the previous pan scenes? The clues are all there and it’s like Woahh

And Cora is laughing like mad because she’s finally got someone who is a worse parent than her.. She’s like Malcom Pan here’s my worst parent award it’s yours..

.. Dude the casting department in this show probably has a deal with the devil or something bc they all look alike..

Now we get why Rumple reacted to Bae’s bean the way he did..the parallels on this damn show kill me.. Bc dude it’s not just just Bae & Rumple it’s Rumple and Milah.. She said the same thing to Rumple that Rumple said to Malcolm..

For all we say about rumple’s parenting.. I have to say at least we know that Bae is the most important person in his world and we can’t say the same for Malcolm Pan..

…and yes I do recognize that I saw dude a lot.. I was raised in Southern California it comes with the territory

Well we’ve got a hiatus this wk.. So well have to wait to see what happens in what I suspect is the last in Neverland next wk..

Much love, Maii

My thoughts on the episode

1. What’s the point of everyone drawing their weapons on Rumpel, they can’t kill him or even injure him unless they are dipped in deathshade.
2. . Really, did you need to make an eclipse couldn’t you just cover the moon with clouds?
3. like father like son
4. Did Henry hear the conversation between Rumpel and Pan? The place wasn’t that big. Did Pan cast some sort of spell that didn’t allow Henry to hear it or something?
5. Noo, not Rumpel.
6. How come no one thought to mention something about Rumpel to Henry
7. Noo, Henry don’t listen to Pan.  What an idiot (do you get the reference?).

I went to Disney on Friday and I parked on in the heroes section, which includes Aladdin, Simba, and Peter Pan. I couldn’t help but think except on Once Upon A Time where Pan is a villian.

I am going to Enchantacon on Nov 23 and I can’t wait! Hopefully, I can meet some other fans of the show and some of you listeners!!

Hi Jeff and Colleen,

Here’s what I learned this week on Think Lovely Thoughts.

#1. White men can’t fly.

#2. Emma’s gymnastic skills are improving.

#3. Henry needs a hearing aid.

#4. Regina and Emma are fans of Bonnie Tyler.

#5. If the boy is not Rumpelstiltskin’s undoing, the rescue party will be.

#6. Emma is a footwear forensics analyst.

#7. Neverland may keep people young but apparently is does nothing for Henry’s voice.

#8. Even dolls have a backstory.

#9. The Mills family has a crazy obsession with ripping out their own hearts.

#10. Good looks are worthless in Neverland.

Here are a few more thoughts on the episode.

We have seen multiple people with their hearts ripped out but they haven’t died until the heart is crushed. We have never seen someone else’s heart put into another body so I’m not sure how it will affect Henry. It could just make him unconcious. If this is the case could Emma sacrifice her own heart for him? Regina could sacrifice her heart as well but it might not be the best option. How will having Henry’s heart affect Pan? Peter is selfish and only cares about his own well being so could having the heart of the truest believer change him for the good? When Cora finally got her heart back we saw how it changed her.

Has the prophecy come true now that Rumpelstiltskin is trapped in Pandora’s box? Is this the undoing the Seer spoke of? Henry did lead him to his son and if it wasn’t for him, Rumple wouldn’t be trapped right now. Since they were going to use Pandora’s box to trap Pan instead of unleashing all the evil, do you think the contents could already been emptied long ago by Pandora? Hopefully, Elpis is still in the box and can help Rumpelstiltskin escape and fully redeem himself.

Pan has the power to keep people from aging, as we’ve seen with John and Michael, even when they were not in Neverland. So I still hold to the theory that Rumpelstiltskin doesn’t age because he gets it’s from the same place Pan does. If Neverland was created in the mind of Peter, that means if he dies, the real Neverland may cease to exist, only leaving the dream of Neverland alive. Anyone who has stayed young because of the power of Neverland, would start to grow old if Peter is somehow killed. By Henry giving his heart to Pan, maybe he actually IS saving the magic of the island. Why else would Rumpelstiltskin say, if Pan dies, he dies as well?

My last thought is how did the spinsters get the magic bean? We know the fairies used to have them so could these two women be fairies also?

Have a great podcast!

3X07 Dark Hollow – Main Show – Lowest Ratings, Don J, Hook, Rumbelle, Pandora like a safe?

Aubrey –
• I just noticed that in the Disney movie, Michael carries a teddy bear with him the whole time and in this episode of OUAT, there was a teddy bear key chain hanging the mirror.

Marilyn

Did anyone else notice that there was a small bear hanging from the rearview mirror on Michael & John’s car? Fun reference back to Michael’s character always carrying around that stuffed bear. And I think that button Ariel found in Gold’s shop was off of Rumple’s father’s uniform. Also, I think that I saw Ariel put it into her little pouch. Loved seeing the dwarves again. They had some of the best lines in the episode.

3×07 Dark Hollow – First Thoughts “What’s a Gun?”
Important Topics Discussed

Thank you Kelsey for the fantastic synopsis of First Thoughts. Check out Kelsey’s Tumblr: http://lanamariaparillas.tumblr.com/

A. “Dark Hollow” begins five days prior to present Neverland time, bringing us back to what has been happening meanwhile in Storybrooke:
• Colleen mentions that it seems a lot longer.
• Belle is seen crying on the pier as Rumple and the others have just left to find Henry.
• We catch up with Team 7 (the Dwarves), Mother Superior, and Archie, who are happily cheering that they and Storybrooke were saved.
• A scene with two men in a car, driving towards Storybrooke with a map and X on Storybrooke are seen.
• Jeff mentions that Greg had a smartphone to locate the town while the two men only have a map.
• The car is red (which is foreshadowing ‘danger’) and is a 1960s or 70s looking model.
• Belle tells them that Rumple left her with the cloaking spell and they needed to hurry so ‘the others’ don’t come into town.
• Mother Superior/The Blue Fairy tells them that fairy dust runs through the walls of the mine, similar to diamond or gold dust.
• Grumpy tells them no whistling boys, just get to work.
• Belle is very unsure of whether or not she can do this, and asks the Blue Fairy to do it for her. Blue Fairy says that it needs to be Belle and that Belle needs to believe in herself.
• By entrusting Belle with the spell, it proves that Rumple truly loves her and trusts her.
• Jeff compares Belle’s situation to that of Star Wars.
• The spell works once Belle ‘believes in herself a little harder’ and it creates a dome over Storybrooke, but not before the others’ car bumper gets cut off.
• The license plate of their car is from Minnesota.

B. Back in Neverland, Regina and Rumple are trying to get Ariel to go to Storybrooke:
• Ariel was very suspicious of Regina but eventually agreed to trust her, despite their past. There was no bitterness and Ariel had no desire for revenge.
• Peter Pan can sense when people leave the island.
• Pan says that he is going to go check on who is in the other box.
• The shadow that is most active on the island is, in fact, Pan’s.
• We do not know if Felix has his shadow or not.

C. Back in Storybrooke, the dwarves are sitting around having lunch:
• The Seven Dwarfs are sitting around and talking.
• Sleepy is sitting apart from everyone else.
• It seemed like a lot of the people in Storybrooke were not like themselves.
• Grumpy told everyone to relax.
• Granny was very grumpy as well.
• Belle has been worried, won’t eat her hamburger. Archie steps in to help out Belle and calls her a ‘hero.’

• Belle is now on a Hero’s Journey.
• Granny told Ariel, “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service” and Grumpy mentions that Ruby had a lot of outfits that broke dress code.
• The two strangers mention a ‘home office.’
• There is a McCutchan Whiskey bottle in Gold’s office, perhaps a representation of Belle’s old life.
• Belle places the sand dollar that Ariel gave her from Rumple down and Jeff mentions that it is a lot like Star Wars Jedi hologram ways of talking when he appears to give her a cryptic message.
• “The strength of our love” will guide Belle to the object she needs to give Ariel to save them in Neverland. He mentions that he has found a way to come home.

D. Back in Neverland, the Love Triangle and The Charmings agree to split up:
• Charming and Snow are still fighting/not speaking to each other over Charming not telling Snow he was dying.
• Emma agrees with Charming in saying that telling Snow would only be distracted from the real journey.
• Henry is starting to wake up from the Lost Boy spell; he tells Pan that he is keeping his family and secrets from Henry.
• Pan tells Henry that he isn’t holding his family prisoner.
• This is technically the truth, but Pan is hiding the real truth.
• The romance love triangle between Hook, Emma, and Neal continues.
• Hook tells Neal in good form that he is grateful that Neal is taking his kiss with Emma well. Neal had no idea this happened, and it causes a rift.

E. Back in Storybrooke, Ariel and Belle are searching through Rumple’s shop:
• Ariel is a kelpto. She finds a button in Rumple’s shop that is like the ones that were on Eric’s jacket. Colleen says that this will probably come into play later on.
• Belle puts the tea cup (the symbol of their love) on its saucer and it opens a trap door.
• Inside the trap door in the floor, they find Pandora’s box.
• Pandora’s box has a red ruby on top.
• The box has two symbols on it: A for alpha and Ω for Omega, which are symbols of the beginning and the end.
• The box has gears etched into it as well.
• Pandora’s box is from Greek Mythology. Zues gave it to Pandora, told her not to open it, but she did anyway and all the evils of the world were released into the universe, leaving only hope at the bottom.
• Jeff and Colleen talk about the difference between jewels for us and for the OUAT universe.
• Belle tells Ariel about the different things in the shop, the corkscrew and the button.

F. Back in Neverland:
• Hook and Neal were talking about the secrets and how it was a test from Pan.
• Henry is following Felix through the forest.
• Hook and Emma have a conversation and Hook says that he just wanted to have good form.
• A crow or raven sound was heard while the love triangle went into the Dark Hollow.
• Many times in Season 1, there was a crow or raven sound.
• Dark Hollow is where the shadows hang out.
• Hook mentions that Pan’s shadow is almost never with him and Pan has full control over this other entity.

G. Back in Storybrooke, the Others have tied up Belle and Ariel:
• Belle realizes that the others are going to destroy Pandora’s Box by using the pickaxes in the mine because they are powerful enough to crush everything and anything.

H. Back in Neverland, Snow and Charming are making their way to Tinkerbell’s house:
• Charming is fed up with Snow ignoring him and holds a “Charmvention.”
• Snow is stepping around talking to Charming.
• She unleashes all her anger against him and ultimately Snow tells him that she would build a tree house and live on the island forever with Charming and it hurts her that he didn’t trust her enough to tell him.
• How will Charming get off the island?
• Jeff mentions that it is very much like Season 1 David.
• The fight proves that they are not perfect and love requires a lot of effort and time.
• When you light a candle in the dark hollow, the shadow is attracted to it.
• There are three shadows. The other two shadows appear to be lost souls and are controlled by Pan’s shadow.
• Hook and Neal are fighting over a lighter in order to prove that they are better to Emma.
• The shadows started to rip the shadows out of Neal and Hook.
• Out of desperation, Emma lights the candle with the magic that Regina taught her the day before.
• The shadow gets trapped in Neal’s coconut.

I. Back in Storybrooke, Ariel and Belle try to stop the Others from destroying Pandora’s Box:
• There is an anvil on Pandora’s box as well.
• The Others are actually Michael and John, Wendy’s brothers. Pan has been keeping them young and alive to do his bidding while Wendy is held in captivity.
• They have tried to rescue Wendy before to no avail.
• Michael and John know they work for Pan.

J. Back in Neverland, Wendy is in bed and Henry finds her:
• We now know that Wendy is the one that is in the box.
• Peter Pan lets Wendy out to ‘play’ though she is still captured.
• Wendy is laying in the bed in a tree house and Pan uses Felix to lure Henry there.
• Wendy tells Henry the island’s magic is dying because no one believes and she is very sick.
• Regina seems like a new version of herself because she is counseling Rumple and she notices that he is very much in love.
• Because she fulfilled her end of the bargain with Ariel, Regina proves that could be trusted, finally.
• Emma says that if she had to choose between Neal and Hook, she chooses Henry.
• The Charmings and The Love Triangle meet up at Tink’s.
• Tink meets Bae for the first time.
• Pan meets back up with Henry and asks him, “Why so glum, Chum?”
• We see Skull Rock.
• Pan says that for Henry to help, he needs to go to Skull Rock.
• It is hard to trust anything Pan says because he bends the truth.
• What is inside Skull Rock?
• Jeff thinks there is something Lost-esque inside.
• Colleen thinks there is a monster inside of Skull Rock and that it is going to require a major sacrifice to go to Skull Rock, perhaps a death.
• Because of Wendy’s lies, Henry agrees to go to Skull Rock.
• Pan knows Henry is the truest believer but he also has a big rock.
• Pan is cheating because he is tricking Henry.

SPECULATION: Colleen wonders if Eric is Regina’s brother or cousin since the castles are very similar.

Here’s a question, I was watching after Owen comes to Storybrooke. How is it that no one has ever stumbled upon the town? I know it’s cloaked but what happens if someone just happens to turn down that road. Do they crash? Do they enter Storybrooke? Do they just keep driving and pass through as if the town is not even there? Second watches always seem to bring up questions.

You know what after rewatching Season 1 and most of Season 2, I realized Cora is the cause of the mess between Regina and Snow. 1. Cora killed Snows Mother 2. Cora cause Snows horse to go wild 3. Cora practically forced Snow to tell her about Snow and Daniel, you could tell that Snow didn’t want to say anything. I am wondering if Regina had known what her mother did to Snows mother do you think the relationship between Regina and Snow would of been different? Do you think Regina still could of been with Daniel?

Hey Jeff and Colleen,
This was another fantastic episode. I agree with the both of you that this season has been fantastic and that whatever changes that were made between season 2 and this current season that they don’t go back.  Pan’s still up to his vindictive mischievous best. We still don’t know who or what is in the other box that was next to Neal before he got moved to the Echo Cave. Loved the training scene with Emma and Regina. I’m thinking now that Regina’s realizing some of Rumple’s frustration when he was training her. Snow’s track record for keeping secrets is still not doing so hot. She’s kept like maybe one. Ariel asked her not to say anything to Prince Eric and she was able to manage that. I was on Charming and Hook’s side to not say anything to Emma in case if what Pan had told Hook would have been a lie. That could have sent Emma further over the edge. The Student becoming the Teacher when Regina force chokes Pan’s shadow version of Belle. Rumple and Regina teaming up to bring down Pan had me cheering. I’m really hoping that Pan doesn’t see this one coming. One ticked off Grandfather and one of two Angry Mamma Bears on the warpath, I’d be a little worried. That fate worse than death thing sounds rather ominous. I’m also glad that Ariel got her voice back. I’m really hoping that Regina won’t have to do too much more convincing to Ariel about having her head to Storybrooke and getting the item from Gold’s shop to bring Pan down. Snow and Emma finally know the truth that Charming had been poisoned by the dream shade. Snow was none too thrilled. Very glad that Neal said that even though Emma kissed Hook that he still wouldn’t give up on her and stop fighting for her.  The Fairy Tale land scenes with Ariel were great. Loved the ending bit where the actual Ursula shows up and gives Regina what for for impersonating her. Well I’ll wrap it up here. Big love to everyone.

Love this episode JoAnna Garica was great as Ariel love her friendship with Snow Prince Eric was okay but a bit dull love Regina and Rumple team up but I do think it going to take all of them to save Henry I didn’t like Snow being team Nealfire but I think she only want Emma with Nealfire because Henry want it I was mad that we didn’t get to see who was in the other box hope they don’t wait to reveal it after Neverland arc or at the end of this season Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fake Belle is gone love all the confessions I don’t mind Snow want a another baby want to see Snow and Charming raise a child and see how Emma feel about having a sister or brother Love that Regina was Ursla you could tell she love playing her like that we got see the real Ursla hope we get to see more of her love that mermaids can swim between realm which makes me think the way to get off Neverland is by water kinda mad that we didn’t see Ariel and Snow scene in present love that Snow is piss at Charming when he try to ecplain and she said Not Now also Snow learn tracking by Ruby aka Red love that Snow can’t keep a secret like Emma confide in Snow about the kiss with Hook love Charming face when he found out also I think Hook only told about Nealfire to the Charmings is because he didn’t want to be the only with the secret if Emma found out Hook knew he can say your parents knew to
So my question is Rumple and Peter Pan are connect so if one dies the other dies to so does that means they are both cut from the same cloth

Hello guys fantastic show as always!

Ariel was fantastic and no one can do her better justice than Joanna.. I really loved the spin on Ariel and the scenes with Eric and Snow melted my heart.. I think so far this is the story that has stuck the most to the Disney version.. But with a few key changes..
The moment she looses her voice and he’s right there but he can’t hear her just kills me (btw did you notice Regina wearing the outfit from Skin Deep?)
Ariel and Snow’s friendship was great and I really hope we see more of that when everyone gets reunited..
I’ve got no thoughts on the Rumple scene other than I’m glad that FINALLY someone told him dude THAT’S NOT BELLE…
I am an Emma fan beyond anything else and honestly? The woman has suffered enough.. and the face she made when she realizes Neal IS alive is anything but happy..
I disagree at the Neal scene it wasn’t sweet I saw it as kind of the opposite.. Like the ex that won’t leave you alone..
She said I hoped you were dead she’s completely ready to move on .. I think we saw a lot of growth on Emma like you know what? You’ve hurt me way too much.. There’s a point of no return and I think Neal crossed it..
Telling someone you are going to fight for them after they tell you they are moving on from you makes you the selfish toxic ex who doesn’t want to respect the wishes of the other. In no way shape or form is that romantic.
He says he’ll keep on fighting but when did you start? He never fought for her, he sent her to jail in his place and then he found Tallahassee with Tamara (and we’ve got confirmation that he truly loved Tamara, I loathed Tamara but he loved her and we can’t take that away from the character) and then he realized oh Emma is still there I’m going for her.. When he doesn’t actually know Emma and Emma doesn’t know Neal..I like that’s he’s admitting he did hurt her but I don’t think he has grasped just how much he did..His fear of rejection and of his father was stronger than he’s love for Emma.
I’ve said it before that I like him when he’s not with Emma, I love the character of Neal and the character of Bae but when he’s around Emma only the worst comes out, he treats her poorly, belittles her (oh I never believed you anyway) so I think he deserves his happy ending but it’s not with her..

Killian Jones knew from the second Pan told him Neal was alive that his chance was shot to hell (or so he thinks) bc he’s got the worst self esteem on this show.. He thinks he’s undeserving on Emma, that he will never be worthy of her but he’s still going to try his hardest to make sure she’s happy..
Because as we know love is sacrifice.. He sacrificed his happiness to make sure Emma got hers (or what he thinks is her happiness, he’s under the impression that Emma’s TL is Neal when we’ve actually got pretty much a lot of proof that it is not the case).. He knows his heart is going to break but he organizes the rescue anyway
When Emma and Neal are hugging and they cut to the Charmings and Killian’s reactions, I love Charming’s face because he has this sort of painful expression on like Killian does because he and Killian are sort of friends ( or getting there, we know Charming respects Killian now and sort of trusts him) and he knows that Killian is a good man who loves his daughter so Charming is feeling for him but also for his daughter too because unlike Snow, Charming doesn’t knows how to react yet about Neal.
Even Snow who is at the moment very pro Neal (which lets be honest it’s mostly because she thinks Neal/Emma are like her and Charming but I think when she finds out the truth she’s going to withdraw her support and go into momma bear mode) if you see her face when they enter the cave and see Neal she turns to look at Killian who has this completely broken expression on his face and then she looks back at the cage and you can see the wheels turning in her head..
More than that we saw that Charming/Snow/Killian didn’t hear Emma’s secret they just saw her speaking to him and then the hug (which I got to say I absolutely adored bc I felt it was kind of him knowing she needed it and it was just great).. So it’s very probable they came to the wrong conclusion
Everyone talks about Robbie’s acting and it is phenomenal but damn Colin’s subtle movements I think are the best p.. He’s got a way to portray emotion that is beyond amazing.. The little background moments that just tell you all you need to know without saying a word..

From Emma

I’ve never sent in an email to a podcast before! But anyway, now that they’ve solidified the awkward love triangle between Emma, Hook, and Neil, I kind of wonder if by the end of the season something will happen that will prevent Hook from leaving Neverland….. like some sort of tradeoff with Charming? It makes since because after this season they’ll probably go back to Storybrook or the Enchanted Forest where Hook would be very much out of place.

Hi Jeff and Colleen:

Love to listen to you guys – you put on a great show. Did you notice the scene when Snow blurted out that Neil was alive that her ears glowed red? Was it just the lighting? It was all I could stare at – I know – I am strange like that – I don’t think that pixie look is for her. Just sayin . . . .

Hi Jeff and Colleen,
Have you seen the video “Spell Block Tango” by Todrick Hall on youTube?
Its a mash-up of  a song from Chicago sung by the evil characters from Disney animated films. I think it is funny and very clever.

Take care,
Marilyn

From Brad

Hi Jeff and Colleen,
I have just a small list this week because I have some other thoughts I’d like to share as well.
Things I learned from the episode Ariel
#1. The Shadow does impressions.
#2. A dinglehopper can be used as a shiv.
#3. Peter Pan can identify a fertile woman just by looking at her.
#4. Camping with the Charming’s would be an awful spinoff.
#5. Always fall in love first before revealing your big secret.
In the beginning of this episode when Snow is looking over the cliff she says to herself, “Really?”  I found this humorous because Emma says things like this all the time, so to hear young Snow say it was great!
If I’m being honest, the one thing I disliked about this episode was the water scenes. It looked like Ariel and Snow were inside a swimming pool in some shots.  A real scene with a beautiful beach and ocean would be shown but then the closeup shots were obviously not in the same location. It reminded me of those shows where someone is pretending to drive and a screen is used for the background.  I wanted to like everything about this episode but that really took me out of it. I wished they could have done as great of a job as they did with Regina as Ursula.
Speaking of Regina, for once she was the only one making sense when she refused to go after Neil. Just because he is on the island doesn’t mean they should have put the whole plan to find Henry on hold. This is why Charming did not say anything about the dream shade. They really should have split up the group evenly. Hopefully there are no repercussions for doing this.
I was trying to figure out the timeline when Regina goes after Ariel. I believe it takes place after she visits Rumpelstiltskin in Skin Deep about a deal to be made involving a “certain mermaid”.
Lastly, I really would have liked to see  some under the sea storyline. I realize most of Ariel’s world revolved around sea creatures but we didn’t even get a mention of King Triton. Now that Ariel is going to Storybrooke in the present they could always do another backstory but I doubt it. If they were going to show it, I think it would have been in this episode.
That’s all for now

Hi Jeff, Colleen, and Lady,

I’ve got a theory that Pan and Rumpel are step-brothers, just because Pan was taunting Rumpel about his father.  As far as who is in the box that can be anybody. It could be Rumpel’s father, which would be very LOST like (Locke and his father). I think whoever or whatever is in the box is going to be a character that has not been introduced yet.
I really liked the episode, especially when they had to tell their secrets to rescue Neal. It will be interesting to see the consequences of those secrets.

This came in after we recorded –

Hi Guys,
I hope this gets in before this up coming podcast.
In regards on how the truths being told in the Echo Cave and the possible damage they can have and reach way beyond the cave, there is a movie from a long time ago that really fits well with this.

The movie was called Talk Radio, about a shock jock and how his life went pretty much into the dumps because of his behavior on the radio. Anyways, he always did a tag line at the end of his show and I have lived my life according to this since then.

“Sticks and stones may break bones, but words cause permanent damage.”

Those that went into the cave are going to live out this particular sentiment in spades. Hooks words will cause himself personal pain and maybe more isolation. Emma’s honesty to Neal while cathartic, still shows they even if they only end up as a parenting team, have a long way to go. With Snow, a moving yet harsh truth that will sting Emma know that she may not be enough for her mother. And Charming? Finally a real dillemma that is around trust and trust is always the center of a marriage.
Neal though, his secret was more like a shot off the port bow, a declaration of intent as you will.

Thanks for your time. 🙂
