OUAT – Red Skies over Fairy Tale Land

RED ALERT! RED ALERT! Red skies seen hovering over Fairy Tale Land!

In recent episodes, we’ve seen red skies on the horizon in FTL, check out the screen caps below:

Episode 8 – Desperate Souls

Episode 9 – True North

and most recently

Episode 12 – Skin Deep

Why is the sky red? Is it because certain cities (that will still haven’t seen) are being burned? Why is it that only a portion of the sky is red? Why have we only seen these skies from a distance? Are we ever going to get a close look and see where the sky looks fiery?

OUAT – Grumpy and Sleepy/Leroy and Walter on watch

So, check it out. Grumpy and Sleepy were on lookout duty in the Pilot in Fairy Tale Land:

To be fair, Grumpy was doing more “looking out” than Sleepy, but anyways…

We see Leroy and Walter looking out (watching security cameras) in Storybrooke, too:

And yes, Walter has trouble staying awake in Storybrooke, too. 🙂

OUAT – Rumpelstiltskin and his interesting Axe and Crossbow.

As we learned from Rumpel himself, he has a large estate, and if you notice in his large sitting/dining/gold spinning room he has a very interesting axe and crossbow on one of his “pedestals”:

We know the amazing Jane Espenson has penned many scripts for many shows I could fanboy faint about, but one show in particular she wrote for included the Scythe/Axe and Crossbow that were used by a famous Vampire Slayer (Confirmed by a number of listeners who emailed the podcast).

I’m thinking the implements of Vampire destruction were included as a tip of the hat to one of Jane’s awesome accomplishments.

OUAT – I didn’t think Rumpel turned Gaston into the Rose.

So, here are some screencaps of the Rumpel magic when Gaston arrives:

Based on the color of the smoke (Check out the blog post we did about the meaning of the color of smoke in OUAT: Here), Gaston was sent somewhere. If you look at the screencap below, the smoke dissapates above the rose, not directly above or around it, so to me, Gaston was sent somewhere (Storybrooke? Would Rumpel have the same power as the EQ to do that?), and perhaps his sword was transformed to a rose.

Anyway, that’s my oponion, what’s yours? Let us know below.

Update: A source informs me that Jane Espenson did confirm that in fact Rumpelstiltskin did turn Gaston into a rose. While I will still quibble with the placement of the smoke and the rose, I will have to let this go. Jeff.

OUAT – Rumpel has a Trident and a Baker’s Hat on display

So, in this shot, we see a Baker’s hat and a Trident on display:

The Evil Queen mentions a mermaid, so it’s fun to see early shout-outs to the Little Mermaid that we will see soon.
