A few folks (David B and @TorityPrism) let me know about the Once Upon a Time panel that would be at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills: http://www.paleycenter.org/paleyfest2012-onceuponatime/

I glanced at the article and saw some of the prices for some of the seats, and it was pretty steep, so I mentioned to Colleen that we really couldn’t afford it. Sad, but true.

Then, an awesome listener @scoboot, asked if I would be attending. I looked again at the site for the event (trying to see if there was a way to apply for a Media Pass of some kind), and I saw there were some balcony seats that were affordable, and I asked Colleen – and WE ARE GOING!

So, OUAT Fan Podcast family, your Co-Hosts will be attending the OUAT panel on March 4th at 1:00PM PT. I have no idea if I can record anything, videotape anything, take photos, etc, but I will look into it. Rest assured we will be recording something about it for sure.

Thanks again for being such awesome listeners, supporters and cheerleaders. I said this from the beginning , it’s not about the hosts, it’s about all of us. Even though you may not be able attend in person, you will be ‘with us’ for sure. We are all in this great ride together. We are not only your hosts, but we want to be your OUAT Ambassadors on this cool fan journey.

OUAT – A little feedback on our live shows, please.

So, we’ve done the mixlr live shows for a few weeks – what do you think? The day and time works for us. We may need a week off here and there, but I think for the most part it will be Saturdays at 7PM Pacific Time.

Apart from that, what do you think? Is the sound okay? I know that some have a slower internet connection, and I don’t know how to remedy that except by uploading it for downloading it later. Do we interact enough with the folks joining via the mixlr chat room and Twitter? Do you like the comment feature (as a chat-like interaction platform) on mixlr?

Is it easy to set and/or listen on mixlr? Can all countries listen easily?

The only thing I would like is a moderator for the comment area. I am thinking that everyone is playing nice with each other, but I would like someone to be my eyes there to keep the experience fun for everyone. I don’t know enough about the comment device to block or ban undesirables that may join us in the future. We may have to move to a chat platform with a moderator level in place. I’m not trying to be big brother, and I’m not on a power trip. I care about all of you, and we have many ages of people and people with different sensibilities and I want to try to make this an inclusive and welcoming as possible. I know, I’m the “half full” guy.

So, let us know what you think. These live shows are another bit of success as we continue to build this OUAT fan community. We welcome your feedback. Thanks.

OUAT – Answered wishes bring surprise gifts, too!

So, I was at a buddies house watching the Superbowl (Actually I was there for the cookout (Salmon, ya’ll) and conversation), and I got a Tweet and email from a kind blogger (InkGypsy) that wanted to feature the podcast in a post on a sad day for Oncers (With a Superbowl on, but no OUAT). I replied and gave InkGypsy the info she asked for.

A little while later, I saw a confirmation Tweet and read through the post and was blown away.

InkGypsy’s blog post about the podcast is the most thorough and well written review I have ever read. She caught the essence of who we are, what we do and is probably the most engaging post I’ve read in a long time.

Here is an excerpt, “While I’ve seen a few podcasts stutter into being then fizzle out since the beginning of the show, this one, and its home website, has gone from strength to strength, showing no signs of slowing down. They provide new content and/or food for thought daily via their blog (with lots of fantastic visuals, like these two – left and right – shown for comparison), Twitter feed, Facebook page and, of course, when new podcast episodes are available to listen to. It’s also more encompassing and up-to-date than anything fan-related/driven on the Once Upon A Time website.”

If you are a listener of the OUAT Fan Podcast or a visitor of the blog or forum I would ask that you would check out the InkGypsy’s site. It’s called the Once Upon a Time Blog – Fairy Tale News. As you can expect, it covers fairy tale news, from all angles (OUAT, Grimm, original stories, etc). I would also say that it’s probably the most artful and beautiful site I’ve seen in a long time. The photos and artwork she posts with her writing and reviews are so good. The one thing I try (really hard) to model here is we send out love and kindness, and we also return kindness and love, too. I am again humbled (again and again) as we take this trek of the growth of this amazing little podcast that is continuing to grow and catch people’s attention. With that in mind, we should never ever take any step of kindness for granted. I’m going right now to take a more thorough look at InkGypsy’s site. I hope you will, too.
