OUAT – Mark Isham’s creative musicality brings magic to Once Upon A Time

Ever wondered about the haunting soundtrack of Once Upon A Time? Look no further – Mark Isham has been making music magic for a long time. Check out this article.

ONCE UPON A TIME HITS A HIGH NOTE

He was one of the original recording artists for the 1980s new age music label Windham Hill. As a child growing up in New York City, he was captivated by the music of Miles Davis, and learned to play the flugelhorn at a young age. He won a Grammy Award for his self-titled album Mark Isham in 1990, and went on to score the background music for the feature films Never Cry Wolf, Alan Rudolph’s The Moderns, Carroll Ballard’s Fly Away Home, Michael Apted’s Nell, Robert Redford’s Lions for Lambs, Jodie Foster’s Little Man Tate and, for London, Ont. filmmaker Paul Haggis, the Oscar-winning Crash and In the Valley of Elah.

He was nominated for an Academy Award for his film score for Redford’s A River Runs Through It. He has scored the background music for 10 feature films in the last three years, including Fame, Crossing Over, Dolphin Tale and The Secret Life of Bees.

OUAT – Our Fan Podcast is #2 New and Noteworthy in iTunes

Thank you to our AWESOME listeners who have subscribed, rated and reviewed us in iTunes. This is what you’ve done for us:

I’ll bet Colleen gets tired of me saying, “I can’t believe this” as I read all the iTunes reviews, Tweets, Emails, and watch the subscriptions, downloads go up.

This is a dream that you’ve all helped come true. Watching our little podcast climb the New and Noteworthy podcast charts past some very heavy hitters is an incredible site to see. I thank each and every one of you who have got on board with us. This is not about Colleen and myself, its always been about three things; 1. The AWESOME Once Upon a Time TV show and the very kind cast and crew, 2. The SUPER AWESOME listeners, and 3. Two of the luckiest (and humbled everyday) podcasters to ever upload something to as RSS feed.

I mentioned this before. We are not done. I have huge plans. Thank you for joining us on this amazing journey, but more exciting places lay ahead, and we can’t to share them together with you all.

Please share this podcast/blog/site with as many interested fans as you can, because there is plenty of room on this “ship” to take us to more amazing places.

Again, a heartfelt thank you. Happy Holidays, and know that your kindness, support (voicemails, Emails, RTs, FB Shares and iTunes rating and reviews) for this endeavor is a very special Holiday Gift for us.

Hugs to you all, Jeff and Colleen Roney

OUAT – We are New and Noteworthy on Itunes. Thanks.

I am speechless.

When I started creating audio and podcast in the mid 2000’s, I never thought I would reach this level. I have learned by watching others, listening to what worked for them and trying just about everything under the sun. I have started many podcasts that no one (or very few people) cared about would be very true, but the days leading up to starting this podcast was different. I slowly stepped back into the podcasting by posting Once Upon a Time blog posts, and when they begin to get traffic like a magnet, I waited to see how long the show would last. I said, “Okay if it makes it past 3, I will consider it”. It did, and then I asked the most important decision of my life – I asked my wife to co-host. She is my best friend, my wife and the best co-host anyone could have. She said yes and I furiously put together all the steps I had learned from Dave Jackson (http://schoolofpodcasting.com/), Cliff Ravenscraft (http://podcastanswerman.com/), and others along the way. Things just began to fall into place. We got our first email feedback, our first voicemail feedback, the likes began to grow on our FB fan page, the traffic to the website went through the roof and now this incredibly humbling achievement. This means alot to me. I want to say a few things;

Thank you, and
We are just getting started. We will do our best to bring you the best ONce Upon a Time Fan podcast and blog we can do, and
We appreciate each and every one of you. The listeners, subscribers, rate and reviewers, FB and Twitter friends, feedbackers, we can not do this without you all and any success we share with you all. Thanks so much again. We are so humbled and so excited to move forward with all of you.
