This episode really took my breath away. I was sitting at the edge of my seat at every scene. When David gave the wrong card to Mary my family and I were like ” Oh my gosh what was he thinking ! ? ” Our jaws were hanging down like the entire show. I really hope Mary finds someone special. She is so beautiful. and maybe someone a little special for Emma too ! The monster that Mr. Gold plays kind of reminds of Davy Jones in Pirates of the Carribean. I can not wait for the next episode . Keep it coming you guys !

Love this ep. It was so rich in nuance and Rumple/Mr Gold is always a most interesting character. The symbolism for fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was also quite moving. When Belle is answering Rumple’s question as to why she had chosen to go with him. She said that there wasn’t much a woman could do in terms of heroism (and when she says the word heroism Buffy’s Scythe from season7 is prominently displayed among Rumple’s treasures), sacrifice, to do the brave thing and save her village. And quite often then Buffy’s Scythe is in the background during the remainder of that scene as a symbol of that heroism displayed by Belle and all women in whatever they must do.

Great episode. Did anyone cath the Queen asking Rumple about the “Mermaid issue”…right at the end right before she says what happened to Belle after she left his Castle. I guess Ariel is in the future….should be fun.
