OUAT – Where do the other doors lead?

If you listened to the most recent voice mail podcast, one of our listeners Mason left an amazing voice mail and posed a question about the doors that were inside the hat.

Where do you think these doors lead? Which other magical worlds are behind these unique and colorful doors?

Thanks Mason for a great voice mail and idea for a blog post. 🙂

OUAT – The Hollywood Reporter interview with Barbara Hershey

When the news that Beaches star Barbara Hershey was cast as Cora, the Evil Queen’s mother, Twitter went chaotic. Beaches fans were happy to see Barbara Hershey again and the #EvilRegals were happy to finally get more back story on the Evil Queen/Regina. So this was a win-win situation for everybody! 🙂

So in anticipation of this week’s episode, The Hollywood Reporter was able to sit down with Barbara Hershey for some questions and much anticipated answers about how Regina became evil.

‘Once Upon a Time’: Barbara Hershey Teases the Evil Mother’s ‘Warped’ Ways (Q&A)

The Evil Queen wasn’t always the scheming, malicious person Once Upon a Time followers have known her to be. As it’s revealed in Sunday’s episode, the Evil Queen’s mother is far worse.

Oscar nominee Barbara Hershey stops by fairy tale land on the ABC drama as Cora, the mother of the Evil Queen, a.k.a. Regina (Lana Parilla), in “The Stable Boy.” And as Hershey tells it, Cora “has great ambition for her daughter” as every mother does. The only catch: Her desires for Regina aren’t exactly coming from a place that’s pure.

OUAT – The Queens Heart Vault

In episode 7 (The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter), we see that the Evil Queen had a vault filled with hearts and some  other things we still need to figure out. When she commissioned the Huntsman to kill Snow White and bring back her heart, she intended to add the heart to her collection in the vault.

When the Huntsman did not bring back Snow White’s heart, the Evil Queen queen took his heart instead and placed it in the heart vault.

In Storybrooke, we see that Regina has brought this heart vault with her and hidden it underground, where she takes Graham’s heart and crushes it.

In this episode (Hat Trick), we see the Evil Queen doing everything she can to get into Wonderland to retrieve something. She asks Jefferson’s help and they both go into Wonderland.

As they get to Wonderand, we see this mausoleum-like structure that clearly belongs to the Queen of Hearts.

As we see the Evil Queen open the doors to the mausoleum, what we see surprises us.

The Heart Vault!

We see the Evil Queen retrieving a box from the vault and quickly escaping.

We realize that before she exits Wonderland, it was her father’s heart that was in the vault.

Who owns the heart vault? Who stole it from who? What kind of rivalry is going on between the Evil Queen and the Queen of Hearts? Why was Henry Sr.’s heart in Wonderland?

OUAT – Regina’s Set of Master Keys

We saw in Episode 11 (Fruit of the Poisonous Tree), Emma uncovered a set of mysterious keys in Regina’s office. Check this previous blog post about it  – http://www.onceuponatimepodcast.com/ouat-what-do-these-strange-keys-from-reginas-office-unlock/

We also learned that it’s possible that one of those keys opens the Snake Box.

In Episode 13 (What Happened to Frederick), we see Regina using one of the keys to enter into David and Kathryn’s house. Check this previous blog post about it  – http://www.onceuponatimepodcast.com/ouat-so-we-see-other-things-skeleton-keys-open/

In this episode (Heart of Darkness), we see Henry has stolen the keys from Regina’s office and confirmed to Emma (and the viewers) that these keys can open any door in Storybrooke.

Henry forces Emma to try the keys to see if it works. After a couple unsuccessful attempts, a key with an apple insignia finally opens the door. Apple refering to Snow White/Mary Margaret.

Towards the end of the episode, Mary Margaret finds a key under her bed in the jail cell. The key had a skull insignia. Maybe referring to a dungeon?

Does each key in the set have an insignia that pertains to different characters in Storybrook? What could Mr. Gold, Granny, Red or Jiminy’s key symbols be?

OUAT – Previous Alice in Wonderland Connections

Once Upon A Time is a show that makes you think. Sometimes things are referenced clearly for a future episode and sometimes you have to look closely.

Here are some things we’ve noticed from previous episodes that could have alluded to an Alice in Wonderland episode.

Episode 1 – Pilot Episode

As Emma is about to leave Storybrooke, she crashes her car and we see the book flip to a page with a catterpillar and Alice.

Go back to previous blog post about this – http://www.onceuponatimepodcast.com/ouat-will-we-be-meeting-alice-in-wonderland-in-storybrooke/

Episode 11 – Fruit of the Poisonous Tree

While Sydney and Emma are having a conversation at Granny’s, we see a blond waitress pass by.

Go back to a previous blog post about this – http://www.onceuponatimepodcast.com/ouat-is-this-an-early-glimpse-of-alice-goldilocks-or-just-waitress-4/

Episode 12  – Skin Deep

When Mary Margaret, Ashley and Ruby have a girls night out, we find out that the bar they were in is called The Rabbit Hole.

Go back to a previous blog post about this – http://www.onceuponatimepodcast.com/ouat-we-know-the-name-of-the-bar-that-sean-proposed-to-ashley/

Episode 14 – Dreamy

When Leroy and Mary Margaret were selling candles, one of their potential customers opened his front door munching on a carrot. Could he be the White Rabbit?

All the speculation has now been proven – an episode Hat Trick is going to finally air on March 25, 2012. Here is our previous blog post with a read worthy article with a first look at Hat Trick (caution – spoilers) – http://www.onceuponatimepodcast.com/ouat-first-look-hat-trick/
